Listed below are some of the more popular crosses which are supplied to yield the F1 generation after receipt.
Crosses will be despatched in tubes with the crossed parental flies.
Upon receipt the parental flies can be observed and discarded and the tubes incubated at 23-25 Celsius.
After a few days larvae and pupae should be evident followed by emergence of the F1 generation.
The F1 generation will need to be inoculated onto fresh medium to lay eggs and after larvae are seen the FI flies can be removed before the F2 generation emerges.
Each standard Ready Made Cross contains a set of 5 tubes inoculated with approx. 5 male & 5 virgin female parental flies.
