Freshly inoculated cultures can often be despatched immediately or as requested. On arrival, cultures will contain parental flies which will have laid eggs on the medium and which subsequently develop into larvae, pupae and adults. The complete life cycle from egg to adult takes about 10 days at 25ºC
On receipt, the cultures should be incubated at between 22-25ºC and following pupation the newly emerged flies can be used for crossing or sub-culturing.
Cultures are available in either standard size and suitable for crossing or setting up stock cultures. Or large size and especially suitable for collecting segregated males and virgin females prior to crossing.
